17 Sep Jess + Alex
Jess and Alex really did have the ultimate classic wedding.
From the grand house for bridal preparations, through to all white and foliage flower arrangements to the lakeside summerhouse ceremony.
Jess had a vision for her big day and that was what she was going to create.
Saturday, 7th July started extremely early for the bridal party, bridal prep was well underway by the time the sun was coming up and temperatures were set to soar to 30 °C. The perfect wedding weather indeed! Jess and her closest friends and family stayed at the beautiful Egerton House in Newmarket to begin preparations and travelled to us around midday, ready to get into their outfits and have a quick drink in the Bridal Suite before the ceremony.
Preparation at the marquee and the summerhouse also started early for suppliers too, flower hoops were being hung from the ceiling, band equipment was being put into place and drones were flying across the grounds to capture that idyllic countryside scene. Jess and Alex’s civil ceremony was set for 3pm, the greatest time to be by the lake in the summer afternoon sun, the swans were swimming past, the birds were singing and the smell of fresh flowers lingered in the air. Guests soon started arriving from 2.30pm and Alex waited patiently for Jess to make her dramatic entrance down the aisle!
After a confetti exit, the happy couple along with their guests wandered up to the Rose Terrace for a fun filled drinks reception, including ice cold bubbly, delicious canapés and exquisite piano playing. The sun continued to shine throughout the photos and mingling, and followed guests down to the marquee for evening festivities. The marquee decor was utterly sublime, a contemporary feel filtered the whole way through, with simple whites, foliage and greens. Simple but stylish tableware, wine chosen with perfection, beautiful background music and a soft breeze oozing through the doors from the lake.
The wedding breakfast was a stylish, traditional affair of three courses followed by tea and coffee and homemade fudge. Three fantastic speeches followed this and were accompanied by of course, more bubbles! The Father of the Bride opened with tales of Jess and how much love he has for his daughter, he was followed by the man of the moment who spoke of his utter devotion for the beautiful bride, and proceedings ended with short funny stories about the groom by his life long best friend. As the sun set for the day, the bar opened and so did the dance floor. Once cake cutting and the first dance were out of the way, serious shapes and moves were bring thrown! The band played two fantastic sets, and to top it off the Father of the Bride, was the drummer! Jess and her family were uber cool- her mum even made the wedding cake and Jess had a second dress change! Wedding goals!
Dancing continued right until the very late evening and the marquee was full of excited, happy and fun filled people. Well done for nailing the perfect wedding Jess and Alex! Here’s to a long and happy future together xxx
